Eligible groups for the flu vaccination

This year everyone over 50 years old and those with long term conditions such as diabetes will be offered a flu vaccine. The vaccine will also be offered to children and pregnant women.

Children who are two or three on 31st August 2025 will be invited to have their flu vaccine at a Nexus GP practice. All other children will be vaccinated at their school or at the practice.

We will be giving flu vaccines from 1st October to eligible groups only. Anyone not eligible that wishes to have a flu jab should book a private vaccine at a pharmacy.

If you receive a text or letter to say you are eligible for a vaccine then you can book using the booking the link in the text or you can call your registered surgery and choose option 0 to book an appointment.

Alternatively, you can attend one of our walk-in clinics:

Saturday 4th October 2025 9am-12.30pm at Decima Street Surgery & Harold Moody Health Centre

OR

Saturday 11th October 2025 9am-12.30pm at Princess Street Practice & Surrey Docks Health Centre.

Housebound patients will be called after 6th October to arrange their flu vaccine visit.

The flu vaccine is safe and effective and cannot give you flu, it will prevent serious illness caused by flu. For information on the NHS flu campaign please see here.
